Group Therapy

Shared experience.
Smaller rooms. Real work.

Group therapy at Illume is intentionally small, clinician-led, and built around specific themes. New groups begin on a rolling basis, approximately every six weeks.

Career, Transition &
the Bigger Questions

A group for adults exploring career direction, working through professional transition, managing the pressures of growth, and sitting with the existential questions that surface when the path forward isn't clear. Whether you're contemplating a significant change, building something new, or trying to understand why success hasn't felt the way you expected, this group offers space to think alongside others doing similar work.

  • Investment: $250 for four 90-minute sessions
  • Format: Small group, 6–8 participants
  • Cadence: Weekly sessions, new cohorts begin approximately every 6 weeks
  • Mode: In-person (Triangle area) or telehealth
Led by Diane Spell

Parenting Support &
Shared Challenges

A group for parents who are carrying the daily weight of raising children and looking for steadier ground. This group addresses conflict at home, the pressure of making decisions that affect the whole family, the isolation that can come with parenting, and the patterns that keep households reactive rather than calm. It's a space to be honest about what's hard and learn from others in it.

Why group

Something individual therapy can't replicate

Hearing your own experience reflected in someone else's story can shift perspective in ways that one-on-one work alone sometimes can't. Groups create accountability, reduce isolation, and build a shared language for change.

Structure

Small, focused, and clinician-led

Each group is limited to 6–8 participants and led directly by a senior clinician. This is therapeutic work, not a support circle. Sessions are structured, confidential, and grounded in the same clinical rigor as our individual practice.

Timing

Rolling enrollment, clear commitment

New cohorts form approximately every six weeks. Each cycle is four 90-minute sessions for $250. You commit to one cycle at a time, which keeps the group fresh and allows you to decide whether to continue after each round.

How it works

Getting into a group

  • 01. Submit the interest form with the group you're drawn to
  • 02. We'll reach out with details on the next available cohort and a brief conversation to confirm fit
  • 03. Once the cohort fills, you'll receive start dates, logistics, and what to expect

Group therapy can complement individual work or stand on its own. If you're already a client, let your therapist know you're interested.
